RULES

  • One team composed of one stylist and one re-model must (creatively) come up with an outfit. The outfit must be purchased from local thrift shops, consignment stores, garage sales, or flea markets.
  • Mission:

    • Each club or individual team can nominate up to two re-models (one male, one female, or both) and (optional) one stylist to be in The Next Top Re-Model at UCI.

    • The purpose of each club is to assemble one recycled outfit (shirts, jackets, pants, bottoms, shoes, and accessories) for each re-model purchased from local thrift stores throughout Orange County.
  • Rules:

    • Spending allowance on the clothes will be enforced (max is $150/outfit).

    • Re-Models must show proof of purchase (receipts), which will be included in the contestant submissions.

    • Clubs must submit names of the contestants by a designated date for approval of re-models and outfits.

    • The organization will then be able to choose one category among three categories to compete in (Campus Casual, Funky Fresh, or High Maintenance).
  • Clothing Rules:

    • Contestants must have at least the following recycled items: bottoms, tops, and footwear.

    • Accessories (hats, gloves, jewelry, tie) are optional but must also be purchased from a recycled clothing store.

    • The re-model will wear the outfit and showcase it on the "catwalk" on June 2nd.

    • At the end of the night, one re-model and his/her stylist will be awarded in each category.

    • One final re-model (male or female) and his/her stylist will win the night's final prize for being The Next Top Re-Model at UCI.

    • Judging will be based on a 1-10 scale (10 being the best) based on the following criteria:

      1. creativity (best use of recycled clothes/clothing originality)

      2. appeal (is the outfit fashionable or workable, does it exude sex appeal?)

      3. the re-model (his/her confidence, attitude, personal style, walking)

      4. overall attire (does everything match, do accessories enhance the outfit, does it look right?)

The total scores will be added in each of the three categories. All judging will be done after each performance/catwalk.
